During the procedure, a high-energy beam of laser light is used to smooth lines, fine wrinkles and scars, remove brown spots, improve texture, and tighten skin. It also stimulates formation of new underlying collagen to continue improvement over time. Only a fraction of the skin's surface is treated by the laser. It leaves small 'bridges' of untouched skin and over a four-month period new collagen is formed to plump the skin.
